Nicholas is Home

Dear All,
Nicholas arrived on Friday December 18th. We have had a great reunion and feel so blessed to have him safely home with us. He spoke in church today and did such an excellent job, I cried all the way through. He is such a wonderful young man.
Andrei is doing well. You can keep up with all of his emails on a blog I created for him. The address is andreibarney@blogspot.com It has all his emails and some pictures. Check it out.
We hope all is well with you and yours and that you are having a wonderful holiday season. We are.
Love,
Darcy

Sight Seeing in Lima

December 9, 2009

hey family

everything up there sounds like it is going great it is cool to hear about everything that is going on im glad that everyone is having a good time. its going to be hard to answer all your questions but i will try last wednesday we went on our tour of lima and we got to go to like down town lima and see all the sights we saw a bunch of really old building and stuff like that which was way awesome we went to several museams and more things like that we went to pizza hut and got to eat which was amazing to be able real food for a change and then in like the last 45 min. we got to just go whereever we wanted and buy stuff i bought two jersies and a baseball cap made of leather its pretty sweet me and jay both got one haha we are stylin. i did get a new companion but he isnt a latino because there wasnt enough for all of us to get one so i got shafted but that is okay i will survive. his name is elder culp and he is pretty cool he reminds me a lot of chase mccormies which is funny. i was kinda dissapointed not to get a latino but its okay i will be okay. i have i think 1 week and 6 days left here and then i leave. i think that i leave the tuesday before christmas we are flying and im not sure about calling home hopefully either then or on christmas but idk. i will let you know. that is really cool that nick gets home pretty soon im not going to lie it doesnt seem like i will ever be there but i know it will come soon enough. in the meanwhile i will make the best of the time i have now and try to make memories out of everthing because pretty soon that is all i will have left.
that is cool that you guys are going to wyoming im a little jealous but i guess its okay i will just make it up when i get home well you still havent answered my question about my camera my comp had a cord that i am using now but im i need something for the field.. i will send a few pictures home today...
it sounds like everything is going great up there thanks for the advice and the prayers stay safe and have fun

Last Days in the PERU CCM

December 16, 2009
hey Family.
things are going pretty well down here im getting really excited to leave this place im starting to get sick of the same routine everyday. today i went to the temple and that was pretty sweet it was my 3rd time to go in lima so im starting to get used to all the spanish. the language is tough and i know i am going to be absolutely blown away and humbled whenever i hit the field but i still want to get out there. i feel like i can understand quite a bit and i can usually get the jist of what people are talking about but it is always hard for me to reply in rational thoughts that make sense haha. but i know that it will come. so it is my last week here it really seems like the time has flown by! i think that the thing i am going to miss the most is just the atmeshpere of being around a bunch of missionaries. like whenever i get sick of someone there will be someone else to talk to.. whenever i go to the field not only will there not be anyone to talk to when i get sick of my comp, i probably wont be able to talk to them cause they are latinos haha... anyways i think this is going to be a pretty crazy christmas it is going to be like my 3rd day out in the field with a language that i dont understand and with a dude that i dont really know at all.. but oh well i will try to make it a memorable one. a little fun fact that i found out is that our president at the mtc here is the brother to jon groberg who is the guy that is on the other side of heaven i thought that was so cool.. anyways apparently having the last name barney in peru is kinda a pretty funny joke so far i have had at least 8 grown adults sing the barney song to me in spanish no less.. it is pretty funny.. on saturday i went proslighting with a 12 year old kid who is a member and every 5 to 10 minutes he would randomly bust out in the barney song haha!

anyways i am glad everthing is going good back in the usa to try to answer your questions about the mail i have only recieved one letterhere at the mtc from jon idk about the pouch mail i really dont know how these peruvian things work so probably just send everything to the mision home unless i say differently thank you for the memory card, and stamps i hope the stamps work down here but i dont know. i will try to send home my other memorycard as soon as i get it. but i ave a question i dont know if you would know but is there a way to send a whole bunch of pictures over the internet instead of just on or two just let me know if you know.. i hope everything is going good let me know about how thatcher soccer is doing and anything else new in thatcher. thanks
