Last Days in the PERU CCM

December 16, 2009
hey Family.
things are going pretty well down here im getting really excited to leave this place im starting to get sick of the same routine everyday. today i went to the temple and that was pretty sweet it was my 3rd time to go in lima so im starting to get used to all the spanish. the language is tough and i know i am going to be absolutely blown away and humbled whenever i hit the field but i still want to get out there. i feel like i can understand quite a bit and i can usually get the jist of what people are talking about but it is always hard for me to reply in rational thoughts that make sense haha. but i know that it will come. so it is my last week here it really seems like the time has flown by! i think that the thing i am going to miss the most is just the atmeshpere of being around a bunch of missionaries. like whenever i get sick of someone there will be someone else to talk to.. whenever i go to the field not only will there not be anyone to talk to when i get sick of my comp, i probably wont be able to talk to them cause they are latinos haha... anyways i think this is going to be a pretty crazy christmas it is going to be like my 3rd day out in the field with a language that i dont understand and with a dude that i dont really know at all.. but oh well i will try to make it a memorable one. a little fun fact that i found out is that our president at the mtc here is the brother to jon groberg who is the guy that is on the other side of heaven i thought that was so cool.. anyways apparently having the last name barney in peru is kinda a pretty funny joke so far i have had at least 8 grown adults sing the barney song to me in spanish no less.. it is pretty funny.. on saturday i went proslighting with a 12 year old kid who is a member and every 5 to 10 minutes he would randomly bust out in the barney song haha!

anyways i am glad everthing is going good back in the usa to try to answer your questions about the mail i have only recieved one letterhere at the mtc from jon idk about the pouch mail i really dont know how these peruvian things work so probably just send everything to the mision home unless i say differently thank you for the memory card, and stamps i hope the stamps work down here but i dont know. i will try to send home my other memorycard as soon as i get it. but i ave a question i dont know if you would know but is there a way to send a whole bunch of pictures over the internet instead of just on or two just let me know if you know.. i hope everything is going good let me know about how thatcher soccer is doing and anything else new in thatcher. thanks

love elder barney
